H2O was founded in 2007 as a small development house to develop a social community for The Dubai Lime a community arts & entertainment project that required a social network to support communication between its members.  Within 3 months we were working with corporate customers on social media projects that required complex development requirements for social communities.  Leading media & entertainments companies were approaching us to deliver community based websites for them to support their events and trade shows in the region.

We started looking at how we could solve some of the business problems by developing collaboration and social media tools, plug-ins and modules for the entertainment, media and events sectors. Within 6 months we had some of the largest media and events companies in the Middle East working with us to develop super innovative web based applications to support events, tradeshows and media projects in the region.   In August 2007 H2O received some initial seed capital of 150,000 USD from the Ascala Group to help develop its social media applications. In 2009 the company received further seed funding from Octagon Investments, WellIzit & Equinox International of 250,000 USD. 

We now have over 70 global customers engaged at a senior level, normally the CEO or CMO to help define their online media strategy and working with us to solve some of their business issues that include:

• How to make money from online media assets
• How to use social media to drive effective marketing & PR
• How to reduce operational costs with online collaboration
• How to implement efficient and effective data management

As a media technology company our focus is bringing innovation to the customers table. We released the first digital content management system to provide a location based services function in 2009, and the first E-Coupon platform to utilize location based services and web based software “H2O Promos”
